Your Trainers Training! – Hi! I’m Ben and I’m a huge health and fitness enthusiast! I love to shake up my own training methods and my focus in 2024 has been Triathlon and Endurance training, which I am really loving! Because I also really enjoy staying on top of my Hypertrophy training in the gym, I have found it difficult to manage 3 x gym sessions, a swim session, cycle session and run session per week on top of a full work schedule! While this was challenging, I definitely had to get better at calendar management this year! I am super excited to bring you BVD Performance. Read below to find out more!

What is BVD Performance? A blend of Sport specific training, Personal Training and All Inclusive running events across Europe to experience partaking in your 1st or 50th Half Marathon or 10km event! To have fun with like minded individuals. To help people reach goals they once thought unattainable.. and to smile while doing it all. 

From your Trainer! – I am a qualified Personal Trainer with a certificate in Nutrition and I also have a first-class honours degree in Structural Engineering. I have owned & operated commercial construction companies in Australia and Ireland, as well as lectured in Engineering in TUD & ATU.  I am now making more time for another passion – Focusing on helping people with their Health & Fitness. Having people report that they are feeling better, sleeping better, are in better shape and my favourite of all… BEING HAPPIER!! – is about the best thing I can think of to fill my day.

Calendar management and organisation – one of the hardest things about staying on top of your training is where and how it all fits into your Diary. There are so many new things thrown at us when we start to take our Performance to the next level – Training times, meal prep times, hydration reminders, getting enough sleep! Working in more than one sector, I have had to work really hard on the art of planning training around a hectic work and hobbies schedule and ensure my clients can work training into their diary, no matter what their commitments! Knowing what it’s like to try and fit it all in – I won’t just tell you that you need to make time for your training!! Together we’ll consider where in your 50+ hour work week we should programme sessions, allowing for the mind-numbing meetings, fatigue of your body and mind, stiffness of your joints from the desk and how we can optimally tie that together to get the most out of your work and your Training!

Nutrition – I put a huge emphasis on your Health… and fitness!.. But more so Health!  I understand the importance of correct and appropriate nutrition, not just for our training effects, but our immune system health, our sleep length and quality, our mindset, outlook and attitude towards training and life! Remember – A Lamborghini only runs on premium fuel! But don’t worry – We all have our foods that we love and don’t want to give up! I’ll do my very best to make sure that you can still eat some of the foods you love while working towards the goals we set!

Mindset & Consistency – Everything becomes easier when we are in a better place in our minds. It can be hard to see the wood from the trees in such a busy life! Utilising tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness meditation and breathwork, can really help to slow us down, focus on the task at hand and stay within ourselves. Remember – How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! Currently I am working on a set of classes called ‘Mindful Mobility’ – This should be up and running by early 2025! But feel free to ask me more about it!

Your Trainers Training! – Hi! I’m Jeanette and I love running, walking and hiking. I have learned so much about the fitness world and my own goals in 2024. This year I planned and completed a walk from Dublin to Sligo (200km!) with BVD Performance, for Pieta House. This was mentally and physically one of the toughest challenges I have done, including marathons in Dublin, Galway, New York & Berlin! But at BVD Performance we love a challenge, and all the better if it is for a good cause!

At the moment my training includes running 3-4 times a week, some cycling, and resistance training exercises.

From your Trainer! –  I have a degree in Tourism & Event Management, as it was always a dream of mine to plan & complete fun events with like-minded people! From working as the Manager in a gym to now starting the journey as a PT myself, I have some amazing goals for 2025 and with BVD Performance in helping others to reach their goals – 2025 is going to be one amazing year! I have been working hard as Events Manager and I’m excited for what we will be bringing you all in 2025! 

Calendar management – Like most, I find it hard to make time for everything in my every day life. As a single Mum, with work and 2 teenages still at home – it can be difficult to manage it all! But I am getting better at managing my calendar. 

Plans for 2025I will qualify as a PT in early 2025. I am excited for this step in my career, and I want to work closely with women over 40. I am currently educating myself from experience and further training on the area of menopause, this includes trying a range of natural products, which I am currently finding super helpful. I will be releasing our events here and on our Instagram page, so be sure to follow along!
